Why can’t I find my site in Search Engines?

The main problems with ranking well in the search engines are based on two factors:

Lack of inbound links
Lack of targeted content

If you focus on improving these two factors, you will start seeing better search results from your website. If you only have one page on your site with not much content and no inbound links, how is anyone going to find you? You could run an extensive advertising campaign on adwords, television, print media, and radio but unless you have unlimited funding for these types of advertising, you probably want to work on your site.

If you want to be found you need to:

build your inbound links – through reciprocated and non-reciprocated links such as from directories.
build targeted content. Write articles, tutorials, step by step instructions, and other posts related to the terms that you would like to be found in search engines for. Write about what problem your product or service will solve. Does it cure acne, or help you control hunger? Why not put a whole page on this with some hints and tips and put a call to action at the bottom (to find out how my product can help you control your hunger contact us today). Some people say to aim to add a page of content a day to your site, but you should add at least three pages a week.

Once you have content people will link to your site without you asking and these links are even more valuable than directory links.
