The internet, television, or both?

Why are more and more businesses using their website addresses on television commercials?

The internet is growing by leaps and bounds, as more and more people buy computers, have access at work, and get faster connections. Reaching millions of potential customers with their commercials on television, businesses are starting to realize the internet can be used as the best sales tool.

Purchasing a television ad spot can be a costly investment. The longer the commercial, the more it will cost. Using television is a wise move if used in conjunction with the internet properly.

With a 2 minute commercial, you may have enough time to introduce your product, show off a few features, show a few testimonials, or just inform the public of why they need it. But what about all the objections, and questions that need answering? Sure you could go the conventional way of providing an 800 number, paying much more for the 800 number than monthly website maintenance, and paying trained operators (add more to your budget for training costs) to field the calls. Or you could build a website, provide the website address and let the site sell for you.

Now setting up a site may be simple, but providing the proper content is the key to making it work. Don’t just give a sales pitch. Answer all possible questions that a visitor may ask. Tell them what they need to know, why they need your product, and anticipate every question that could possibly be asked. If you provide all rebuttals or explanations on your site, the chances of selling your product are multiplied. Sell with your commercial but close with your website.
