50 million plus global domain registrations
There is a very active section of this blog named “Now is the time“. Each new entry into this section outlines new progress in the online domain industry and today’s post adds a big exclamation point to the statement Now is the time!
More domains are registered everyday, sale prices are rising, ppc payouts and advertising costs are rising, and the internet is growing by leaps and bounds. The visions of the past are beginning to come to fruition, and the internet is continually changing for the better.
The total number of Global TLD domain registrations (gTLDs) has passed the 50 million mark for the first time on April 22 2005. According to statistics compiled by WhoIs.sc. The gTLDs are the five extensions meant for international use; .com, .net, .org, .info and .biz. 50,141,759 gTLD registrations that were reported April 22 is a 34% increase over the 37,391,570 registrations reported in mid April of 2004 by Zooknic.com
